The bonus also applies when you finish a piece: you only pay for as many pages as your piece needs, free pages included. If it has 11 pages, you pay for 10. If a free page is left over, it goes into your balance. Every further 30 paid pages bring another 5 free.

If the free part isn’t enough, you buy the waiting pages right at the scan, even without an account. If you have a balance, neumascan uses that first. The volume bonus applies here too: with 11 waiting pages you pay for 10.
No. neumascan has no subscription: you only pay when you buy pages, and every purchase is one-time. Nothing renews, so there’s nothing to cancel.
What’s free?
neumascan reads the first 4 staves of every piece for free, for up to 5 pieces per calendar month (Austrian time). Your first scan needs no sign-in, after that you use a free account. The score editor, listening, transposing and export are free too.
What is a page?
A page of music with up to 12 lines counts as 1 page; with 13 to 24 lines, as 2 pages. Before you buy, neumascan shows how many pages your piece counts.
How does the volume bonus work?
From 10 paid pages you get 1 page free on top, from 20 it’s 3, from 30 it’s 5. Every further 30 paid pages bring another 5 free. When you finish a piece, you only pay for as many pages as it needs, free pages included: for 11 pages you pay for 10, for 23 pages you pay for 20. If a free page is left over, it goes into your balance.
Do pages I buy expire?
No. Pages from a pack and leftover free pages stay in your balance until you use them. They work for any piece, and neumascan uses them first, automatically, when you start.
What if the free part isn’t enough?
Then the remaining pages of your piece wait. At the scan you can buy them (€1.99 per page, with the volume bonus) or take a pack that covers the piece. If you’ve already started 5 free pieces this month, the free part comes back next calendar month.
How do I pay?
Through Stripe, a payment provider based in Ireland. You enter your card details directly with Stripe; we never see them. Packs need an account; you can finish a piece without one, and Stripe then asks for your email address. Privacy details (German).
Can I withdraw from a purchase?
As a consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Because the pages you buy apply as soon as you’ve paid, and a piece you buy is scanned right away, you confirm at checkout that we start right away. What that means for a withdrawal is set out in the terms. You can withdraw without signing in via Withdraw from contract.
Can neumascan read piano, choir or full scores?
Yes, as a beta: neumascan reads piano, choir and full scores with up to 5 staves per system. Such a page counts like any other. Listening, exporting and correcting notes work; anything the editor can’t do with several staves yet, it tells you there.
